Monopoly Junior

Today,I just have to talk about Monopoly Junior by  Hasbro.  I used to love playing Monopoly.  My childhood best friend and I would play everyday for hours...for what I remember to be years and years of play.... We must have worn that board out.  But that was late in the 1970's and Monopoly might not be on the top of your childs "want" list....despite the fact that there are many monopoly games out there from Monopoly Junior to Monopoly hotel....etc...seriously you can find 27 products here

Anyway....my family received this game for free and I couldn't wait to pull it out and play it.  It made its debut on a Monday, during homeschool.  It was easy to set up as there were only 4 game pieces made of sturdy plastic, made for little hands... these game pieces are adorable and are in the shape of cat, dog, ship and car.  There were 48 cardboard cutouts I punched out in about a minute.  These replace the cards used in the standard monopoly game.  There is only 1 die...easier for younger age counting, as the game is for ages 5 and up. The directions were easy to read and were understood by my children ages 9 and 11.  They were able to play the game with no help from Mom and could pay for properties and pay fines for landing on each others spaces without prompting.  After about an hour the game was won (by Mom) but there was no whining about not being the winner.  The kids are excited to play it again.  We will  bring this game out again during our home-school or family game night.
